Israel and the United States have bombed Iran. Again.

Just as they did in June 2025, the Israelis struck during negotiations between the US and Iran over Iran’s nuclear programme. Last year, Israel bombed Iranian cities and nuclear facilities. Around 600 civilians were killed. The United States bombed the site at Fordow and allowed Iran to strike the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar. Trump then declared a victory and the Twelve-Day War ended with a very fragile ‘ceasefire’.

It’s different this time around.

Israel and the United States launched strikes against Iran yesterday. Iran retaliated by bombing Israeli and US assets and allies across the Middle East. Iranian state media revealed that the joint strikes killed the country’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The situation is rapidly deteriorating. The US and Israel bombed a school in southern Iran yesterday. Iran has struck US-Israeli assets in Israel, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan.

Two rogue states (the US and Israel) have lit a fuse in the Middle East. Their strikes against the theocratic Islamic regime in Iran defy international law. Not that international law matters anymore. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres gave an empty condemnation of the US, Israel, and Iran. Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu can brazenly carry out illegal acts of war without being sanctioned or seriously punished.

We can only hope that both leaders are soon impeached or voted out. But that doesn’t solve the rot at the core of their country’s governments.

Gaza proved that international law is just an illusion. This new war in the Middle East just confirms it.

The events of yesterday, today, and the weeks ahead will shape the next few decades. That is the speed at which history is made these days.

The news and disinformation and misinformation is going to come in hard and fast. This is what the ruling class (the Epstein class) want. They want to overwhelm us. They want to ‘flood the zone‘. Everything is developing very, very quickly in the Middle East. I’m not denying that. But the way that it is all framed — this onslaught of information and horror — is designed to numb us.

Then we will disengage, and we will doomscroll.

Or we will burn ourselves out with rage.

It’s very important that we step away without losing focus. Clarity matters more than ever. You don’t need to be engaged all of the time. In this day and age, doing that will lead you to an early grave. The world exists beyond your phone, your high-tech rectangle of existential horror.

Limit your news and social media intake. Do what brings you joy. Attend to your life. There isn’t much that you personally can do about the Middle East, and people are truly suffering out there. Don’t forget that. Don’t turn away. At the same time, don’t allow this to numb you or burn you out. We are stronger as a collective. We can protest and boycott and bring the machine to a halt… but only if we take care of ourselves in the long term.

When you come back and start consuming the news mindfully, you will do so with a clearer mind. You will be able to identify the bullshit. There is a lot of it around. The propaganda machine is working overtime.

Don’t completely disengage. You can’t ignore what is happening anymore.

You don’t need to let it consume you, though.

Stay sharp.
